The project focuses on field and laboratory investigation of pegmatitic lithium deposits in Canada. Core tasks include geological mapping of pegmatite dikes, drill-core logging, and sampling. The analytical program characterizes mineralogy and geochemistry of lithium pegmatites to better understand deposit formation and derive exploration criteria.
Responsibilities include:
- Field mapping, core logging, and sample collection in remote settings
- Laboratory analysis and interpretation of mineralogical and geochemical data
- Derivation of exploration criteria for lithium pegmatite systems
- Scientific reporting and dissemination through journal articles, reports, and conference contributions
Requirements include:
- Diploma/Master degree in geosciences
- Strong English skills (written and spoken)
- Ability and fitness for fieldwork in remote areas (helicopter-supported)
- Independent work style and willingness to engage with complex research topics
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in mineral exploration (including internships)
- Experience with optical microscopy and/or LA-ICP-MS methods
- Experience with GIS and/or Leapfrog
